I never subscribed to the whole Global Warming thing when it started flooding the media some years back. It looks like I was right not to believe in it too. Money buys results and here in the UK many many years ago, Margaret Thatcher told scientists to prove that there was such thing as global cooling, and offered a financial reward for bringing this “evidence” to her. This was a long time ago as I said, when we had long super hot summers and winters that really were cold, snowy, foggy, and most of all fun.
Two years ago we had Climategate, and now its Climategate II. Emails have again been leaked, again we have the likes of Michael Mann, Ben Santer, Kevin Trenberth caught in a series of email exaggerating the extent of Anthropogenic Global Warming, and even more embarrassing is that they privately admit to each other that the evidence is nowhere near as strong as they would like it to be.
These emails (220,000 of them) confirm that the so called man made global warming scare is not about science, but about political activism, examples of the emails:
“Observations do not show rising temperatures throughout the tropical troposphere unless you accept one single study and approach and discount a wealth of others. this is just downright dangerous. We need to communicate the uncertainty and be honest. Phil, hopefully we can find time to discuss these further if necessary…..”
“I agree w/ Susan [Solomon] that we should try to put more in the bullet about ‘Subsequent evidence’ […] Need to convince readers that there really has been an increase in knowledge – more evidence. What is it?”
Here is what looks like an outrageous case of government – the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs – actually putting pressure on climate “scientists” to talk up their message of doom and gloom in order to help the government justify its swingeing climate policies:
I can’t overstate the HUGE amount of political interest in the project as a message that the Government can give on climate change to help them tell their story. They want the story to be a very strong one and don’t want to be made to look foolish.
The string of emails go on and on and on, but with all this the game really is up! However, will any government turn and admit that it was wrong, or will it carry on regardless and continue with the oppressive “greenhouse” taxes, and fuel duty. I think the latter will be the final result, they will stop talking about climate change so publicly, and hope one day it vanishes through the hole in the ozone layer!
